Crusade to Ruin

I watched her run through the flooded streets
The wind and the rain tasted her tears
As she fought the forever fight
In the misty night on a crusade to ruin the fears

The desire for power
The lust for a life lost in the prosperity’s ache
Nobody would drop what they had
For a fear that it will break

Through the ruined city she saw
An ancient remnant of glorified monument
Built on the luxury of gold and sliver
And a want that beat like her heart, without relent

The sun shone on the old world
But she turned her face from it
She talked to the man that reflected the light
As she was reflected back to what was lit

She was given the stars from the heavens
And she placed them in her hair
With a smile to the giver of these gifts
She continued to walk without a burden to bear

When you return to your home
Remember what she fought for so long
You died tomorrow and nothings left
Take your money and you’re gone
